NBKE building in Cairo

Custom features and GAMMA go-live at NBKE

Software is best when it’s shaped with input by actual users in mind. The implementation of GAMMA at the National Bank of Kuwait-Egypt is a great example of this practice. The peculiarity of this process was the custom development of a monitoring and scheduling feature for the ETL process.

Onsite go-live

In fall 2019, ABRIS representatives travelled to NBKE in Cairo to assist with the GAMMA go-live onsite. In the frame of this, they helped configure the software’s monitoring and automation features to the system and core banking processes specific to NBKE.

As part of the standard procedure, our experts also trained the bank personnel in the use of the software. While using GAMMA is fairly simple, we consider it important that operators and admins understand all facets of the T24 operation tool. In the future, this will help them utilize all the customisation possibilities it can offer. For instance, they will be able to create their own GAMMA controller commands to automate various core banking processes.

Regular implementation, custom request

This project had yet another peculiarity: the development and integration of a custom feature. Upon NBKE’s request, we developed a function that allows the bank to launch and monitor MS SQL jobs straight from GAMMA.

‘During the GAMMA implementation at NBKE, we successfully tackled multiple new challenges both in terms of monitoring and automation. I believe that the solution we delivered for the monitoring of T24-independent processes meets all the expectations of our client. It was great working together with NBKE’s project team and we look forward to our continued cooperation,’ explained Miklos Komjathi (ABRIS).

All your banking IT operation needs

Although the above-mentioned task is independent of T24, it fits well into our strategic vision for GAMMA. On one hand, we closely follow the evolution of T24. On the other hand, we aim to go beyond supporting a single core banking system. This means that our goal is to provide financial institutions a holistic tool that allows them to monitor and manage all core banking-related processes from the same dashboard.

‘We are on the way to provide an overall automation solution for Banks to make operation easier and faultless. NBKE is a huge step in this journey with the overall monitoring and scheduling feature for the ETL process. ’ – explained Viktor Weininger, COO of ABRIS.
