Bank of Ghana enjoys auditable core banking with GAMMA

Budapest, October 2022. Bank of Ghana is out of post-go live hyper care with GAMMA. The tool won the central bank over by solving its need for the monitoring, automation, and auditability of core banking operations.

A fruitful partnership

Bank of Ghana signed with ABRIS in November 2021 to implement GAMMA. The client was looking for a comprehensive monitoring and automation solution for their Temenos Transact core banking platform. The scope dedicated special focus to interface monitoring, as well as auditability, all of which were answered by GAMMA.

Beyond the merits of the core banking management tool, the successful deal came to be thanks to the efficient groundwork by partner FVT, and its management team Ms Dzifa Abodakpi and Mr Dickman Adarkwah. Their contribution was integral to the fast and smooth sales process.

‘As Local partners of Abris, we are committed to provide excellent after sales service and support to Bank of Ghana (BOG). We shall keep this promise to ensure BOG’s ongoing success,’ commented Dickman Adarkwah CEO of FVT.

Auditable core banking

GAMMA’s pièce de résistance for Bank of Ghana was its ability to minimize the need to directly access their core banking platform, Transact. The logged and controlled access the tool offers fulfills key compliance and security requirements. Firstly, it limits the possibility of undesired actions and mistakes. Secondly, it ensures that all core banking operator and sysadmin actions are auditable.

Keeping customers satisfied

The implementation began in early 2022 and ended in May. Bank of Ghana is now out of post-go live hyper care. ABRIS CEO Zsolt Godry visited Accra in September for an in-person follow-up. The Bank’s team expressed their complete satisfaction with the Transact management tool.  ABRIS COO Viktor Weininger said,

‘The Bank of Ghana implementation has strategic importance to us for several reasons. On one hand, it is the first central bank in our portfolio. On the other hand, it is our first client in the West African region. As a central bank, security in all areas is of utmost importance to BOG. In this respect, GAMMA has passed the exam with flying colours, which can serve as an example to other central banks not only in the region, but throughout the world. With the help of GAMMA, operational processes can be carried out in a safe, audited manner without external interventions. GAMMA’s monitoring function has also been configured so that only the relevant stakeholders are alerted in case of any unexpected event or error. In such instances, it immediately sends a notification with the appropriate priority to the problem-solving department.Special thanks to Leonard Coffie and his team in the fast and efficient execution of the implementation, for supporting our work with their attitude and expertise and thus we were able to meet the deadlines.’
