Remote integration of T24 monitoring and automation at BIL (Case Study)
Most of the daily challenges of operating a core banking system can be solved by implementing a specialised tool with the right monitoring, alerting, and automation capabilities. Such a solution can save you money, resources, time, and nerves.
This is our speciality.
BIL at a glance
BIL was founded in 1856, making it the oldest multi-business bank in the Grand Duchy. It has always played an active role in financing Luxembourg’s economy.
BIL has dedicated wealth management offices in Switzerland, Denmark and the Middle East as well as trading floors in Luxembourg and Zurich. Business situation: T24 monitoring and automation wanted
In 2016, BIL decided to overhaul its system and switch to Temenos software across the bank’s full operations in retail banking, private banking, and corporate banking. Later in the implementation process, they have resolved to expand the excellent capabilities of their new platform with additional automation and monitoring features that are preferably integrated with the enterprise-level system.
They made the decision to acquire GAMMA after an onsite workshop, which showcased the unparalleled, comprehensive functionality of the ÁBRIS software and the ability of the ÁBRIS team to tackle custom requests.
Key requirements: fully integrated T24 management
BIL specified the following requirements:
- T24 monitoring
- T24 automation
- IBM Websphere compatibility
- Integration:
- Integrate automation processes with the bank’s enterprise-level scheduling tool so COB can be managed together with the rest of the operations.
- Integrate GAMMA with the existing notification and alerting system.
Main challenges
The first two of the key requirements, namely T24 monitoring and automation, are natively included in GAMMA, and as such these have been solved by the implementation and configuration of the tool.
- New interface for automation integration
- Remote installation and training
Remote integration with external job scheduler
It needs to be noted that at the time of the implementation, the Bank was in the process of T24 deployment; therefore, GAMMA has been configured on the already operable test environments.
Core banking management – implemented remotely
ABRIS completed the installation and the training tasks remotely. While this task always holds unknown factors, communication in this case was flawless. BIL assigned a great team to the task; they have learned the ropes swiftly and configured the monitoring and automation tool by themselves.
T24 automation by GAMMA integrated with an external scheduler
In addition to replacing the manual tasks of its T24 processes by automation, BIL also needed to completely integrate these into its enterprise-level system, so they could initiate and manage all core banking jobs from the same scheduling surface.
ABRIS created a REST API interface to connect the Bank’s own scheduler to GAMMA’s Enterprise Level Scheduler module. This module allows the Bank to start and stop core banking functions, as well as to monitor the status of said functions round the clock.
Succesful integration with a complex modern banking system
‘The implementation at BIL is a milestone in the West European presence of GAMMA. BIL is a large bank with state-of-the-art technologies, and we have successfully integrated GAMMA into this system in harmony with client requests.’
Viktor Weininger, COO, ABRIS
