The NDCS system is used in conjunction with predefined change management processes and procedures, to enable auditable control over system changes both in the development and the live environments.
The key purpose of the NDCS is to enable each Temenos T24 element (record, local source code file, etc.) to be expressed as an ordinary text file. Accordingly, it is possible to store T24 elements in a standard UNIX-provided SCCS system. Based on SCCS services, NDCS is a command-driven, Temenos T24 database-independent source control system. NDCS has a Desktop interface, which assists consultants in issuing NDCS commands.
The main purposes of the NDCS are to prevent the same items from being developed in different environments. The NDCS helps you to follow the developments implemented in the various environments and informs you of the precise contents of each release.
The NDCS produces accurate reports on the configuration of the system, and identifies the dependencies that are associated with the various developments. With the process workflow that is built into the NDCS, you will be able to identify the latest status of the development (in progress, awaiting quality assurance, under SIT testing or UAT testing, ready to go live or to be loaded for live use), which means you can be sure that only tested changes will be loaded into the live environment. The NDCS supports all stages of the management workflow, in accordance with ITIL standards.
The development package can be uploaded to any T24 database, and can be subsequently tracked to see which environment and status it is in, which also means that the timing of version changes can be easily scheduled
