Case study - ZIS (Hypo Alpe Adria Bank group)

In 2012 ZIS initiated an RFP process to implement a third party tool for T24 Monitoring, alerting and automation and centralization of T24 COB procedure for multiple T24 environments.

ZIS is using multiple T24 environments (T24 Application server, Database server). Each bank has set of environments defined by project needs (Development, System Integration, User Acceptance Test and Production).

In majority of environments COB procedures are run randomly and on demand, except on Production environments where COB is regular procedure and it is started each working day. Each COB is started either by operators (by night) or by T24 system administrator during the day.

The T24 application is connected to numerous 3rd party interfaces either with direct link between T24 and interface or through WebSphere MQ server which is used as secure transaction transport layer.

According to the requirement the planned operation tool to be implemented:

  • Had to have a browser based customizable user interface for specific user needs;
  • Had to support monitoring and alerting of online Banking with possibility to track jobs which are executing and alert in case of issues with a specific job. Tracking locking and errors of TSA and TSS agents;
  • Had to have the possibility to automate jobs in PRE-COB procedure (such as Unix scripts and jsh scripts related to T24) and jobs which are executed after COB;
  • Had to have COB monitoring with appropriate alerting and escalating mechanism (e-mail/SMS). Adequate daily reporting capability with variety of reports and customizable reports were important part of the requirement;
  • Had to be able to integrate with other monitoring/alerting software (zabbix, tivoli monitoring);
  • Had to do the possible changes in configuration of backend software (Jbase, Unix);
  • Had to be able to monitor T24 connections with external interfaces with T24;
  • Had to have prediction mechanism for whole COB duration and JOB specific duration integrated into the system;
  • Had to have security features for different user profiles.
